Blackberry’s latest stab at relevance may actually work. The company appears to be planning to release their first Android phone later this year. While the BlackBerry OS has been able to run many Android apps for some time, it has been it’s own OS and has been using the Amazon App Store as opposed to the Google Play Store.
That Appears to be about to change. According to multiple reports, Blackberry is gearing up to release an Android phone for ATT. According to Liliputing the first go will feature a 5.4 inch 2560 x 1440 pixel display, a slideout keyboard, a 18MP camera, 3 gigs of ram, and a Snapdragon 808 processor.
While Blackberry still hasn’t conceded defeat when it comes to their Blackberry OS, this may be the white flag being raised. That said, it’s the first blackberry phone that may interest the masses in years.
